Walker Burroughs (born September 29, 1998) was a contestant in Season 17 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Walker auditioned in Louisville. He sang "Love Like This" by Ben Rector and "Hello" by Lionel Richie. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Walker was shown in the same Group of Ten as Nate Walker. He sang "Whereabouts" by Stevie Wonder. He advanced and for his final solo performance, he sang "Your Song" by Elton John. He was placed in the first deliberation room, along with Uché, Johanna Jones, Laci Kaye Booth, Alejandro Aranda, Nick Townsend, Laine Hardy, Margie Mays, Shayy, Drake McCain, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Ryan Hammond, Kai the Singer, Evelyn Cormier and Madison Vandenburg. It was revealed that everyone in the room advanced.
Hawaii Round[]
Walker sang "Youngblood" by 5 Seconds of Summer. Afterwards, the judges told him that he did enough to become a semifinalist.
Top 20[]
Walker sang "How Deep Is Your Love" by The Bee Gees and "Have It All" by Jason Mraz in a duet with Mraz. Afterwards, the judges told him he did enough to become a Top 14 finalist.
Top 14[]
Walker sang "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" by Margery McKay (from The Sound of Music) during the Live Show and "Lovebug" by The Jonas Brothers during the Results Show. He was placed in the Top 7 in the voting for that week, making him a Top 10 finalist.
Top 10[]
Walker sang "When She Loved Me" by Sarah MacLachlan from Toy Story 2. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another week.
Top 8[]
Walker sang "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen and "Mrs. Robinson" from The Graduate in a duet with Alejandro Aranda. He, along with Alyssa Raghu, had the lowest number of votes for that week, and the judges chose not to save him, eliminating him from the competition.
Finale[]
For the Season 17 Finale, Walker returned to sing "Africa" and other hits with Weezer and Wade Cota.
