Thaddeus Johnson was a contestant on Season 9 of American Idol.

Season 9 Audition[]

Thaddeus auditioned in Dallas. He sang "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" by Michael Bolton. Randy and at least two other judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Season 9 Hollywood Round[]

Thaddeus was shown in a group called "Neapolitan" along with Paige Miles, Liz Rooney and Jessica Cunningham singing "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga a capella. Every member of his group advanced. For his final solo performance, he sang "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson. After the judges' verdict, he was placed in the same holding room as Casey James, Tim Urban, Tyler Grady, Andrew Garcia, Todrick Hall, Katie Stevens, Jermaine Sellers, Siobhan Magnus, Crystal Bowersox, Alex Lambert, Michael Lynche, Tori Kelly, Lilly Scott and Jeff Goldford. Everyone in his room advanced. At the final deliberation, it was revealed that Thaddeus did not make the Top 24.

Season 16 Audition[]

Thaddeus auditioned in New York. He sang "Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia, ft. John Martin. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Season 16 Hollywood Round[]

Thaddeus was shown in a group called "God's Diversity" with Michael J. Woodard, Shannon O'Hara and Kourtney Smith singing "Rather Be" by Clean Bandit, ft. Jess Glynne. Everyone in his group advanced. He was later shown in the final Solo Round singing "Rise" by Katy Perry. Afterwards, he was placed in the same holding room as Ada Vox, Mara Justine, Jonny Brenns, Noah Davis, Ron Bultongez, Samothias and Laine Hardy. Everyone in their room advanced. At the Final Judgment, the judges told Thaddeus that he did not make the Top 24.
