Syesha Raquel Mercado (born January 2nd, 1987) was a contestant on Season 7 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Syesha auditioned in Miami. She sang "Think" by Aretha Franklin. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Syesha was shown during the second day of Hollywood Week. She sang "Everything I Do (I Do it For You)" by Bryan Adams. On the fourth day, she sang "Chain of Fools" by Aretha Franklin despite having a sickness. Although losing her voice, she advanced and made the judges' final fifty. During the final deliberation, it was revealed that she made the Top 24.
