Shannon Renee Magrane (born October 21, 1995) is an American singer from Tampa, Florida who finished 11th in Season 11 of American Idol.
American Idol
She wowed the judges at her audition in Savannah, Georgia and progressed through the competition, making it to the top 25. She became a part of the Top 13 on March 1, 2012. Magrane was eliminated on March 15, 2012, finishing in 11th place. She is currently a junior at Howard W. Blake High School in Tampa, Florida.
Performances
During Shannon's time on the show, she performed several times before being eliminated on March 15, 2012. At her audition, Shannon sang "Something's Got to Hold on Me" by Etta James and was passed onto Hollywood by the judges. In Hollywood she sang "Fallin" by Alicia Keys, "Hit Em' Up Style (Oops!)" by Blu Cantrell, and What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. Shannon advanced on to the Las Vegas round she sang "At the Hop/"Blue Suede Shoes" by Danny & the Juniors/Carl Perkins with fellow contestant Joshua Ledet and Season 12 finalists Curtis Finch, Jr. and Amber Holcomb. At the final judgement stage in front of the judges, Shannon sang "The Trouble with Love Is" by Kelly Clarkson. In the Top 25, Shannon sang "Go Light Your World" by Kathy Troccoli and advanced to the Top 13. During the Top 13, she sang "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston and advanced to the Top 11, even when being set in the Bottom 3 girls. During the Top 11, Shannon sang her final song "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men. She was eliminated and finished 11th out of all.
Post-Idol
Magrane appeared in The Today show and Anderson on March 20, 2012. On April 13, 2012 Magrane performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Busch Stadium prior to the season home opener of the St. Louis Cardinals. She also performed at the official welcome party of the 2012 Republican National Convention.
