Scott Douglas MacIntyre (born June 22nd, 1985) was a contestant on Season 8 of American Idol.

Audition

Scott auditioned in Phoenix. He sang "And So It Goes" by Billy Joel. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round

Scott was shown in the first part of Hollywood Round in a montage of contestants who advanced along with Frankie Jordan. During the final performance in front of the judges, he sang "Home" by Daughtry while playing the keyboard. He was placed in a holding room with Matt Giraud, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Stevie Wright, Jorge Nunez, Danny Gokey, Jamar Rogers, Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai and Jackie Tohn among others and the judges revealed that they all advanced. At the judges' mansion, it was revealed that he did enough to advance to the Top 36.

Scott was shown in Group 3. He sang "Mandolin Rain" by Bruce Hornsby and the Range. He received the highest number of votes for a male contestant that week, making him a Top 13 finalist.
