Robert "Rob" Taylor III was a contestant in Season 18 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Robert auditioned in Sunriver. He sang "Bruises" by Lewis Capaldi. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Robert competed in the "Pop" group for the Genre Challenge alongside Louis Knight, Genavieve Linkowski, Demi Rae, and Geena. He sang "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin. Afterwards, the judges told him that he advanced. He was later shown in a duet with Tito Rey called "Soul Libre" singing "Say So" by PJ Morton and JoJo. Afterwards, the judges said Robert advanced but Tito did not. For his final Solo performance, he sang an original song. Later, he was placed in the same deliberation room a Shannon Gibbons, Jeb Vonderbruegge, Jovin Webb, Nick Merico, Just Sam, Geena, Bilaal Avaz, Dillon James, Aliana Jester, Demi Rae, and Louis Knight, where the judges told them everyone had advanced.

Hawaii Round[]

Robert sang "Take Me to the Pilot" by Elton John. Afterwards, the judges told him he did not become a Top 20 finalist.
