"Rivers Deep" is the coronation song by Gabby Barrett, who reached the Finale—finishing in third place on Season 16 of American Idol.

Background[]

The song was written by E. Kidd Bogart,[1] FRND,[2] HARLOE,[3] Ella Henderson,[4] and Eman Kiriakou.[5] It was co-produced by Kiriakou w/ FRND;[6] and subsequently released through Hollywood Records.[7]

Gabby performed it for the first time, during Round 1 on the season's penultimate episode: Top 3 performance night.[8]

Trivia[]

  • Co-writer, English singer Ella Henderson, was herself a contestant, on the ninth series of The X Factor UK. She came in sixth place, when she and eventual winner James Arthur were in the Bottom 2—considered to be among the most shocking eliminations in the show's history.[9]
    • Ella's breakthrough (and debut) single, "Ghost", bears a sonic similarity in melody and tempo.[10]
