Richie Law was a contestant on Season 11 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Richie auditioned in Aspen. He sang "I Wouldn't Be a Man" by Josh Turner. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Richie was shown in the second part of Hollywood Week, in a group called "M.I.T." (or Most International Team) with Heejun Han, Phillip Phillips and Jairon Jackson singing "Broken Strings" by James Morrison and Nelly Furtado. Despite a rocky performance, everyone in their group advanced. After his untelevised final solo performance, he was placed in the fourth deliberation room along with Baylie Brown, Britnee Kellogg, Angie Zeiderman, Stephanie Renae, Heejun Han, Neco Starr and Gabi Carrubba among others, where it was revealed that everyone in the room had advanced.

Las Vegas Round[]

Richie was shown in a group with Jermaine Jones. They were the only group of 2 in that year's Las Vegas Round. They sang "Make It Easy on Yourself" by Jerry Butler. Both members of the group advanced.

For his final solo performance, he sang "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash. At the Final Judgment, the judges told him he did not make the Top 24.

After the Top 24 was announced, the judges said that they intended to have a surprise 13th male contestant in the semifinals. Richie, Johnny Keyser, Jermaine Jones and David Leathers, Jr. were considered. Ultimately, Jermaine was chosen.
