Quentin Alexander (born December 11, 1994) is an American singer from New Orleans, Louisiana who finished in 6th place on season 14 of American Idol.
Background[]
Born in New Orleans, Quentin grew up in the Ninth Ward, which was badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He credits his childhood growing up in such a rough area with making him the person and the artist that he is.
Before Idol, Quentin, a graduate of McDonogh 35 High School, was working as a manager at French Connection, a retail clothier for men.

American Idol[]
Alexander auditioned with "Royals" by Lorde and was given a golden ticket to Hollywood. He advanced through Hollywood and Showcase week unscathed and was given a spot in the Top 24. During the Top 24 he performed "I Put a Spell on You" by Jay Hawkin and performed "Master Blaster (Jammin')" by Stevie Wonder as he advanced into the Top 16. From his performances, he was voted into the Finals. During the Top 12, he performed a reprise of his audition song and advanced into the Top 11. During the Top 11, her performed Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" and "You're the One That I Want" by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. He escaped the double elimination and performed "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins for the Top 9 and performed "Dark Side" by Kelly Clarkson for Kelly Clarkson Week, which got him into the top 8. For Billboard Hits weeks, he took on "Latch" by Disclosure and Sam Smith. He made it to the top 7. Quentin then took on "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" by Lenny Kravitz and "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkal for American Classics week. However, his performances were overshadowed by a confrontation with Harry Connick, Jr. where Quentin expressed his dismay over fellow contestants Rayvon Owen and Joey Cook being in the bottom 2, which he called "wack", while Connick took it as a criticism of the show. After the the performances and the confrontation with the judges, he was eliminated after fellow contestant Rayvon Owen received the Idol Fan Save for the fourth consecutive time. He finished in 6th place over all.
