Paul Jolley (born January 27th, 1990) was a contestant on Season 12 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Paul auditioned in Baton Rouge. He sang "I Won't Let Go" by Rascal Flatts. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Paul was shown in a group called "The Tailors", visibly forgetting the lyrics. Despite this, he advanced and for his final solo performance, he sang "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood. He survived the subsequent cut along with Lazaro Arbos and Curtis Finch, Jr. He eventually did enough to make the Top 20 Guys.
Top 40[]
Paul appeared in Male Group 1 and sang "Tonight I Wanna Cry" by Keith Urban. Afterwards, the judges told him he did enough to become a semifinalist.
Top 20[]
Paul sang "Just a Fool" by Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton. He received enough votes to place him in the five highest voted male contestants, making him a Top 10 finalist. To celebrate, he sang "Alone" by Heart during the results show.
Top 10[]
Paul sang "Amazed" by Scotty McCreery. He was placed eighth in the voting, making him "safe" for another week.
Top 9[]
Paul sang "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles. He received the lowest amount of votes for that week, eliminating him from the competition.
