Nick Boddington (born April 22nd, 1985) was a contestant on Season 11 and Season 12 of American Idol.
Season 11 Audition[]
Nick's audition was not televised.
Season 11 Hollywood Round[]
Nick was shown in the second part of Hollywood Week, in a group called "Groove Sauce" along with Reed Grimm, Aaron Marcellus, Jen Hirsh and Creighton Fraker singing "Hold On, I'm Comin'" by Sam & Dave. Everyone in his group advanced. He later appeared in a deliberation room that received good news and advanced to the final seventy.
Season 11 Las Vegas Round[]
Nick was shown in a group called "Lady and the Spectacles" with Jen Hirsh, Creighton Fraker and Aaron Marcellus singing "Sealed with a Kiss" by The Four Voices. He was the only member of his group to be eliminated.
Season 12 Audition[]
Although not shown in an audition, he was shown waiting in line during one of the crowd shots in New York City and a flashback during the Sudden Death round indicated that he did indeed audition there.
Season 12 Hollywood Round[]
Nick was shown in a group called "The Math-Heads" with Gabe Brown, Mathenee Treco and Matheus Fernandes singing "Somebody to Love" by Queen. Everyone in the group advanced and for his final solo performance, he sang "Stars" by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals on the keyboard. Afterwards, it was revealed that he advanced along with Mathenee, Charlie Askew and JDA.
Top 40[]
Nick appeared in Male Group 2 and sang "Say Something" by James Morrison. Afterwards, the judges told him he did enough to become a semifinalist.
Top 20[]
Nick sang "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls. He did not manage to place among the five highest voted male contestants, eliminating him from the competition.
Trivia[]
- Nick was a member of a singing group called Reality, who auditioned for Season 4 of America's Got Talent, but did not advance past the auditions.
