Nathaniel Marshall (born September 19, 1989) was a contestant on Season 8 of American Idol.

Audition

Nathaniel's audition was not televised, however it was revealed that he auditioned in New York.

Hollywood Round

Nathaniel was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week, in the same group of eight as Anoop Desai, Jasmine Murray and Rose Flack. Everyone in his group advanced. Later, he was shown in a group called "Team Compromise" with Kristen McNamara and Nancy Wilson singing "Mercy" by Duffy. Despite the obvious tension between all three members of his group, he advanced along with Kristen and Nancy was cut. During the final part of Hollywood Round, he was shown singing "Disturbia" by Rihanna while accompanied by a guitar. Afterwards, it was revealed that he advanced along with Ricky Braddy, Michael Sarver Alex Wagner-Trugman, Stephen Fowler, Alexis Grace, Jasmine Murray, Joanna Pacitti, Arianna Afsar, Casey Carlson and Kai Kalama. At the judges' mansion, Nathaniel had to sing-off against Jackie Midkiff to determine who would advance to the Top 36. He sang "I'm Already There" by Lonestar. The judges decided that he would advance and Jackie would not.

Top 36

Nathaniel was shown in Group 3. He sang "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meat Loaf. He was eliminated at this point of the competition.
