Season 13 Audition[]
Michael auditioned in Salt Lake City. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Season 13 Hollywood Round[]
Michael's stay in Hollywood wasn't shown much, but after his untelevised final solo performance, the judges told him at the Final Judgment that he did not become a Top 30 finalist.
Season 14 Audition[]
Michael auditioned in Nashville. He sang "Stay with Me" by Sam Smith. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Season 14 Hollywood Round[]
Michael appeared in the first part of Hollywood Week, in the same Line of Ten as "Big Ron" Wilson, Jacob Tolliver and Ryan Pinkston. He sang "Warrior" by Demi Lovato. Afterwards, the judges told him that he advanced. He was later shown in a group called "Team Dimples" alongside Nick Fradiani, Jaq Mackenzie and Hunter Larsen singing "Rude" by Magic! For his final solo performance, he sang "Classic" by MKTO. Afterwards, at the Final Judgment, the judges told him he did enough to make the Top 24.

- After his Season 14 audition, he requested to slow dance with Jennifer Lopez, accompanied by Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. playing "Stay with Me" on guitar and piano respectively.
