Melinda Ademi (born November 19th, 1995- ), also professionally known by her mononymous name Melinda, was a contestant on Season 10 and Season 12 of American Idol.
Season 10 Audition[]
Melinda auditioned in East Rutherford. She sang "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.
Season 10 Hollywood Round[]
Melinda was shown in an untelevised group with Phi Brooks[1], Rebecca Culhane[2] and 1 other.
Season 10 Las Vegas Round[]
In Las Vegas, she was shown singing "Here Comes the Sun" with Thia Megia. She was eliminated thereafter.
Season 12 Audition[]
Melinda's audition was not televised, but the American Idol website indicated that she auditioned in New York City and received a Golden Ticket.
Season 12 Hollywood Round[]
Melinda was shown in a montage of contestants who survived the first day of Hollywood Week. She was later shown in a group called "The Swag-ettes" along with Candice Glover, Denise Jackson and Kamaria Ousley singing "Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!)" by Blu Cantrell. She advanced and for her final solo performance, she sang "Price Tag" by Jessie J, ft. B.O.B. It was revealed afterwards that she advanced along with Kree Harrison. Later, she was good enough to make the Top 20 Girls.
Top 40[]
Melinda was shown in Female Group 2 singing "Nobody's Perfect" by Jessie J. Afterwards, the judges told her she did not make the semifinals.
After the Show[]
Melinda has released many singles for the Albanian market, reflecting her family history as being from Mitrovica, Kosovo.[3] At least 10 of them reached #1 on the Albanian music charts.[4]
