Megan Joy Knudsen (born September 18th, 1985)[1] was a contestant on Season 8 of American Idol. During her season, she was married and known as Megan Joy Corkrey, but dropped the surname during voting rounds, and later divorced. She's been married to fellow band member Quinn Allman since 2011.
Audition[]
Megan auditioned in Salt Lake City. She sang "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man" from Show Boat. All four judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Her stay at Hollywood was not shown much, but at the judges' mansion, it was revealed that she did enough to advance to the Top 36.
Top 36[]
Megan was shown in Group 2. She sang "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae. Although initially eliminated, she was selected to compete in the Wild-Card round.
Wild-Card[]
Megan sang "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall. She was selected by the judges to compete as a Top 13 finalist.

Megan sang "Rockin' Robin" by Bobby Day. She received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another week.

Megan sang "Walkin' After Midnight" by Patsy Cline. She received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another week.

Megan sang "For Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder. She received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another week.
Top 9[]
Megan sang "Turn Your Lights Down Low" by Bob Marley. She received the lowest number of votes that week, and the judges chose not to save her, eliminating her from the competition.
