Audition[]
McKayla auditioned in New Orleans. She sang "She Used to Be Mine" by Sara Bareilles. Although Luke voted "no", Lionel and Katy voted "yes", sending her to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
McKayla chose to work on her Stage Presence in the first part of Hollywood Week. She sang "Warrior" by Demi Lovato. She was eliminated at this stage of the competition.

- She is the daughter of Phil Stacey, who was a Top 6 finalist in Season 6. In fact, Phil had to miss her birth in order to audition for American Idol. Phil also accompanied her for her audition, and played the piano for her audition.
- McKayla is the third second-generation American Idol contestant with a televised audition, after Tristen Langley and Zaréh.
- Coincidentally, each one was eliminated during the first opportune round of Hollywood Week.
