Mandisa Lynn Hundley (October 2, 1976 - April 18, 2024), known professionally as Mandisa was a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Mandisa auditioned in Chicago. She sang "Fallin'" by Alicia Keys. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Mandisa was shown in the first part of Hollywood Round singing "I Believe in You and Me" by Whitney Houston. She was shown in a montage with Sarah Enouen and Brooke Barrettsmith singing "Band of Gold" by Freda Payne. After her final solo performance, she managed to make the judges' final forty-four and at the final deliberation, she was told that she did enough to make the Top 24.

Mandisa sang "Cry" by Faith Hill. She received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.
