Madison Mairee Watkins (born March 20, 1995) was a contestant on Season 19 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Madison sang an original song called "Your Little Girl". All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Madison was shown in a montage of contestants who advanced following the Genre Challenge, alongside Zachary D'Onofrio, Jason Warrior, Anilee List, Alyssa Wray, Hannah Everhart, Alanis Sophia, and Ronda Felton. She was later shown in a duet with Deshawn Goncalves called "Kingdom Kids" singing "Stay" by Rihanna (ft. Mikky Ekko). During the Showstoppers round, she sang "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown. At the Final Judgment, the judges told her she did enough to become a Top 24 semifinalist.

Madison sang "Holy" by Justin Bieber (ft. Chance the Rapper) as her solo; and "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thang" by Stevie Wonder in a duet with Tori Kelly. She received enough votes to be considered "safe".

Top 16[]

Madison sang "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles. She did not receive votes to become a Top 10 finalist and was placed in the "Danger Zone" awaiting the Judges' Wild-Card verdict.

Wild-Card[]

Madison sang "Hotline Bling" by Drake. The judges chose her as one of their Wild-Cards, making her a Top 12 finalist.

Top 12[]

Madison sang "Run to You" by Whitney Houston (from The Bodyguard). She, alongside Ava August and Beane, received the lowest number of votes for that week, eliminating them from the competition.

  • Madison was previously on the eleventh season of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated during the Judge Cuts round.
