Maddie was shown in a group called "The Mighty Rangers" along with Danny Jones, Tori Kelly, Mark Labriola and Kimberly Kerbow singing "Closer" by Ne-Yo. She advanced along with Tori. After her final solo performance, she was placed in a holding room with Shelby Dressel, Haeley Vaughn, Jessica Furney, Angela Martin, Didi Benami, Lee DeWyze, Lacey Brown, Aaron Kelly, Ashley Rodriguez, Joe Munoz and Janell Wheeler. It was revealed that everyone in the room had advanced. At the judges' final deliberation, it was revealed that she did not make the Top 24.
