Michaela Anne Nobilette, known professionally as Emkay Brazil or MK Nobilette (born August 20, 1993) was a contestant on Season 13 of American Idol.

Audition

MK audition in San Francisco. She sang "If I Were Your Woman" by Gladys Knight and the Pips. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round

Although not shown singing, MK was one of the contestants chosen by the judges to sing at the airport hangar. She was placed in Bus 2, along with Eric Wood, Neco Starr, Morgan Deplitch, Connor Zwetsch, Adam Roth and fourteen others, where they met up with the other contestants who survived the first cut. She was later shown in a group with Briana Oakley singing "Royals" by Lorde. For her final solo performance, she sang "The A Team" by Ed Sheeran. At the Final Judgment, the judges told her she did enough to become a Top 30 finalist.

Top 30

MK was chosen by the judges to sing at Rush Week. She sang "All of Me" by John Legend. Afterwards, it was revealed that she received enough votes to become a Top 13 finalist.

Top 13

MK sang "Satisfaction" by Allen Stone. It was revealed that she was in the "bottom 3", but she was safe for another week.

Top 12

MK sang "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" by Train. It was revealed that she was in the "bottom 3", but she was safe for another week.

Top 11

MK sang "Make You Feel My Love" by Bob Dylan. She received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.

Trivia

• MK is first openly LGBT American Idol contestant. In earlier seasons, other LGBT contestants appeared (like Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert) but none of them disclosed their sexuality while on the show, whereas MK revealed she was gay in her first audition. She additionally was raised by two mothers.
