American Idol Wiki

Logan Johnson (born March 5, 1998) was a contestant in Season 17 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Logan auditioned in Coeur d'Alene. He sang "Sober" by Demi Lovato. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Logan was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week, in the same Group of Ten as Madison Vandenburg, Margie Mays, and Tyler Mitchell. He sang "Sensible Heart" by City and Colour. He advanced and was shown in a group called "Ain't Goin' Home" with Nate Walker, Gazzie White, and Ruthie Craft singing "The Longest Time" by Billy Joel. True to their name, every member of the group advanced. Later, after his untelevised final solo performance, he was placed in either deliberation room 1 or 3 and advanced to the Top 40.

Hawaii Round[]

Logan sang "Sorry" by Justin Bieber, half in English and half in Spanish. The judges felt he was good enough to become a semifinalist.

Top 20[]

Logan sang "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" by City and Colour and "What a Time" by Julia Michaels, ft. Niall Horan in a duet with Michaels. Afterwards, the judges told him he did not become a Top 14 finalist and he was eliminated.

Trivia[]

  • At the time of his audition, Logan was eight months sober from his drug addiction.
  • Logan, Shawn Robinson, and Layla Spring vied for a "Second Chance Audition" voted by the public during the 2019 American Music Awards with the winner being revealed at the Dancing with the Stars Season 28 Finale. Layla Spring won the vote.
