Lauren Mascitti (born December 12, 1991)[1] was a contestant in Season 18 of American Idol.


Lauren auditioned in Savannah. She sang the original song "If I Can Lose You". All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Lauren was shown in the "Country" category of the Genre Challenge, alongside Hannah Prestridge, Grace Leer, and Alejandro Garrido. She sang "Don't It Make Your Brown Eyes Blue" by Crystal Gayle. Afterwards, the judges told her that she advanced. She was later shown in a duet called "The Songsmiths" with Leon Majcen singing "Jackson" by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Afterwards, the judges told her that she advanced and Leon did not. For her final Solo performance, she sang an original song called "God Made a Woman". Afterwards, she was placed in the same deliberation room as Jonny West, Arthur Gunn, Sophia Wackerman, Franklin Boone, Makayla Phillips, Kimmy Gabriela, Francisco Martin, DeWayne Crocker Jr., and Cyniah Elise, where the judges revealed that everyone had advanced.

Hawaii Round[]

Lauren sang "Two More Bottles of Wine" by Emmylou Harris. Afterwards, during the Final Judgment, she was called up alongside Grace Leer. The judges told them that they could not decide between the two of them, and decided to hold a public vote from America to determine who gets the final spot in the Top 20.

During the second "This is Me" retrospective episode, it was revealed that Lauren had lost the public vote and was eliminated.
