Lamont Herbert Dozier (born June 16th, 1941 - August 8th, 2022) is an American songwriter and record producer. He has co-written and produced fourteen US Billboard Number One hits and four UK Billboard Number One Hits.
He served as a guest judge and mentor during the Top 12 week on Season 2 of American Idol.
He died on the exact same day as fellow American Idol guest judge Olivia Newton-John.
