Kimberly Gabriela Amparo (born March 31, 2002),[1] known on the show as Kimmy Gabriela,[2] was a contestant in Season 18 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Kimmy auditioned in Savannah. She sang "Let's Hurt Tonight" by OneRepublic. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Kimmy was shown in the "Pop" category of the Genre Challenge, alongside Margie Mays and Nick Merico. She sang "Say Something" by A Great Big World, ft. Christina Aguilera. Afterwards, the judges told her that she advanced. She was later shown in a duet with Elyjuh Rene called "Kimlyjuh" singing "Stay" by Rihanna, ft. Mikky Ekko. Both members of the duet advanced. For her final Solo performance, she sang "I'm Here" by Cynthia Erivo. Afterwards, she was placed in the same deliberation room as Jonny West, Arthur Gunn, Sophia Wackerman, Franklin Boone, Makayla Phillips, Francisco Martin, DeWayne Crocker Jr., Cyniah Elise, and Lauren Mascitti. The judges told them that everyone in the room advanced.
Hawaii Round[]
Kimmy sang "You Don't Do It for Me Anymore" by Demi Lovato. Afterwards, the judges told her she did enough to become a Top 20 finalist.
This Is Me[]

Kimmy sang "Leave Me Lonely" by Ariana Grande ft. Macy Gray. She did not receive enough votes to place in the Top 10, and the judges chose not to save her, eliminating her from the competition.
