Kevin Patrick Covais (born May 30th, 1989) was a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Kevin auditioned in Boston. He sang "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. Although Simon voted "no", Randy and Paula voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Kevin was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week singing "If I Ever Fall in Love" by Shai. He was later shown in a group called "The Rat Pack" with Josh Jordan, David Radford and Will Makar singing "Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra. Everyone in his group advanced. After his final solo performance, he was placed in the same holding room as Terrell Brittenum, Kellie Pickler, Ace Young and Bucky Covington. Everyone in the room advanced. At the judges' final deliberation, they told him that he advanced to the Top 24.

Kevin sang "One Last Cry" by Brian McKnight. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Kevin sang "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" by The Miracles. He received the third-lowest number of votes that week among the boys, but was declared "safe".

Kevin sang "Vincent" by Don McLean. He received enough votes to become a Top 12 finalist.

Kevin sang "Part-Time Lover" by Stevie Wonder. He received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.

Kevin sang "When I Fall in Love" by Doris Day. He received the lowest number of votes that week, eliminating him from the competition.

- Kevin received the nickname "Chicken Little" for his resemblance to the titular character of the 2005 Disney animated film Chicken Little.
