Audition[]
Karl auditioned in Oklahoma City. He sang "I Got You (I Feel Good)" by James Brown and an original song. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Karl was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week, singing "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye in the same Group of Ten as Curtis Finch, Jr.. He was eliminated at this stage of the competition.
