Audition[]
Originally auditioning on MySpace, Karen was selected to audition in front of the judges in Los Angeles. She sang "You Give Good Love" by Whitney Houston. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Karen was shown in a group called "Spanglish" with Jorge Gabriel, Kevin Campos and Jovany Barreto. They sang "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. She advanced along with Jovany.
Las Vegas Round[]
In Las Vegas, Karen sang "Can't Buy Me Love" with Pia Toscano. She advanced.
Back in Hollywood, she sang "No me queda mas" by Selena. Afterwards, the judges told her she did enough to make the Top 24.

Karen sang "Hero" by Mariah Carey. She was placed in the Top 5 for the girls for that week, making her a Top 13 finalist.
