Josh Holiday (born March 9, 1988)[1][2] was a contestant on Season 12 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Josh auditioned in Chicago. He sang "Back at One" by Brian McKnight. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Josh's stay in Hollywood wasn't shown much, but he did manage to make the Top 28 Guys. However, the judges told him he needed to participate in a sing-off with Adam Sanders to determine whether he would advance to the Top 20 Guys. He sang "Georgia on My Mind" by Ray Charles. Afterwards, the judges told him he did enough to land the final spot in the Top 20 Guys.
Top 40[]
Josh appeared in Male Group 2 and sang an original song called "I'm Better With You". Afterwards, the judges told him he did not become a semifinalist.
Trivia[]
- Josh became the first contestant to perform an original song during a broadcasted format showโalbeit one pre-taped, without public voting.
