Jorge Núñez (born October 1, 1987) was a contestant in Season 8 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Jorge auditioned in San Juan. He sang "My Way" by Frank Sinatra in Spanish and "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong in English. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Jorge was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week, in the same group of eight as Von Smith and Stephen Fowler. He sang "Angel" by Jon Secada. He did enough to advance. In the second part, he was shown in a group with Julissa Veloz, Nick Mitchell, and Maryn Azoff. He managed to advance along with Nick, but Julissa was eliminated. During the final day of Hollywood Week, he sang "Closer" by Ne-Yo. He was placed in a holding room with Matt Giraud, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Stevie Wright, Danny Gokey, Jamar Rogers, Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai, Scott MacIntyre, and Jackie Tohn among others and the judges revealed that they all advanced. At the judges' mansion, it was revealed that he managed to make the Top 36.

Jorge was shown in Group 3. He sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" by Elton John. He received enough votes to make himself a Top 13 finalist.
Top 13[]
Jorge sang "Never Can Say Goodbye" by The Jackson 5. He received the lowest number of votes that week alongside Jasmine Murray, and the judges chose not to save him, eliminating him from the competition.
