Audition[]
John auditioned in Washington, D.C. He sang "Baby, Come to Me" by Patti Austin and James Ingram. Although Randy voted "no", Paula, Simon, and Mark voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
John was shown in a group with Jamie Paul Koehler and Kurtis Parks singing "Jump Shout Boogie" by Barry Manilow. Despite forgetting their lyrics, each member of his group advanced. After his final solo performance in front of the judge, it was revealed afterwards that she did enough to advance along with Anthony Fedorov, Jaclyn Crum, Tammy Wynette Nash, Scott Savol, Bo Bice, Mikalah Gordon, Lindsey Cardinale, and Jessica Sierra. During the judges' final deliberation, it was revealed that he did not make the Top 24.
