John Andrew Park (born September 13th, 1988) was a contestant on Season 9 of American Idol.

Audition[]

John auditioned in Chicago. He sang "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know" by Donny Hathaway. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

John was shown in a group with Haeley Vaughn and Jessica Furney singing "The Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani, ft. Akon. After his final solo performance, he was placed in a holding room with Shelby Dressel, Haeley Vaughn, Maddie Penrose, Jessica Furney, Angela Martin, Didi Benami, Lee DeWyze, Lacey Brown, Aaron Kelly, Ashley Rodriguez, Joe Munoz, J.B. Ahfua and Janell Wheeler. It was revealed that everyone in the room had advanced. At the final deliberation, the judges told him that he advanced to the Top 24.

Top 24[]

John sang "God Bless the Child" by Billie Holiday. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Top 20[]

John sang "Gravity" by John Mayer. He along with Jermaine Sellers received the lowest number of votes among the male contestants for that week, eliminating him from the competition.
