Jim Ranger was a contestant on Season 9 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Jim auditioned in Los Angeles. He sang an original song called "Drive". Although Avril voted "no", Randy, Kara and Simon all voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Jim's stay in Hollywood wasn't shown much, but he was eliminated on the first day.
After the Show[]
Jim auditioned for the nineteenth season of The Voice, choosing to go on Blake Shelton's team. He ended up being the runner-up for that season, losing only to Carter Rubin. He was the third American Idol alum to make the Finals of The Voice after Sundance Head and Dexter Roberts (all three of which coincidentally were on Blake Shelton's team), and made it farther than any contestant on American Idol that did not make the live shows.
