Jarrod Norrell was a contestant on Season 9 of American Idol.

Audition[edit | edit source]

Jarrod auditioned in Orlando, where he sang "Amazing Grace". Despite his confidence in his ability, the judges compared it to the sound of a lawn mower, and told him he simply did not have a good singing voice. Shocked at this, Jarrod became agitated and pleaded for a second chance to sing the song, which he did over Randy's protests. It drove the judges to call security, who tried to convince him to leave quietly but he refused to give up. As they escorted him out, he became physical and tried to argue with the judges, kicking at a wall as he was led out of sight. He was escorted out of the building in handcuffs by the police.
