Jared Lincoln Cotter (born June 17th, 1981) was a contestant on Season 6 of American Idol.

Jared's stay in Hollywood was not televised much, but he did manage to make the final forty. On the final day in Hollywood, he sang "Cupid" by Sam Cooke. Later, the judges revealed to him that she had made it to the Top 24.

Jared sang "Back at One" by Brian McKnight. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Jared sang "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Jared sang "If You Really Love Me" by Stevie Wonder. He was placed in the Bottom 2 for that week, eliminating him from the competition.

After the Show[]

Jared is a credited co-songwriter of the Billboard #1 hit "Down" by Jay Sean, ft. Lil' Wayne, which went on to sell six million copies in the United States and went certified Platinum in several countries.
