I Am Beautiful is the coronation song and debut single for season 12 American Idol winner Candice Glover. It was released after she had won the show on May 16, 2013.
The song was written by Joleen Belle and Jaden Michaels. It was produced by Roahn Hylton and John Lock.
Idol performance[edit | edit source]
Glover first performed the song on Idol's final performance show on May 15, 2013 and again when she was declared the winner on May 16. An acousitc version of it appears as a bonus track on her debut album, Music Speaks. The origianl is not included on the album.
Live performances[edit | edit source]
In addition to performing it on Idol, Candice has performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Live with Kelly and Michael. She also sang it at the 37th Annual Capitol Fourth concert in Washington, D.C. on July 4, 2013.
Commercial performance[edit | edit source]
In its first week of release, the song sold 49,000 copies in the United States, making it the lowest-selling Idol coronation song since Do I Make You Proud by season 5 winner Taylor Hicks, which sold 38,000 copies in its debut week in 2006.

Despite the low sales, the song managed to debut at number 93 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 5 on the R&B Digital Songs chart, number 6 on the Heatseekers chart, number 8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs chart, number 33 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, number 39 on the Digital Songs chart, number 40 on the Hot Digital Tracks chart, and number 10 on iTunes.
