American Idol Wiki

Heather Josephine Cox (born November 16th, 1983) was a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Heather auditioned in Denver. She sang "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. It is unknown how the judges voted, but at least two of them voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Heather's stay in Hollywood was not shown much, but at the judges' final deliberation, they told her she had made the Top 24.

Top 24[]

Heather sang "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" by Diana Ross. She received enough votes to be considered "safe" for that week.

Top 20[]

Heather sang "Hero" by Mariah Carey. She had the second-lowest number of votes, eliminating her from the competition.

Trivia[]

  • A few years after her appearance on Idol, she was diagnosed with brain cancer and crowdsourced for her treatments, which were also supported and promoted by fellow Idol alums from both Season 5 and other seasons.[1] After her successful treatments and survival, she would perform on the ABC show The Doctors in 2017.[2]
