Grace Leer (born November 28, 1991)[1] was a contestant in Season 18 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Grace auditioned in Milwaukee. She sang "Crowded Table" by The Highwomen. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Grace was shown in the "Country" category of the Genre Challenge, alongside Hannah Prestridge, Lauren Mascitti, and Alejandro Garrido. She sang "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers. Afterwards, the judges told her that she advanced. She was shown in a group with Hannah Prestridge called "Rockdale Meets Nashville". They sang "Mama's Broken Heart" by Miranda Lambert. Afterwards, the judges told her she advanced and Hannah did not.
Hawaii Round[]
Grace sang "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin. Afterwards, during the Final Judgment, she was called up alongside Lauren Mascitti. The judges told them that they could not decide between the two of them, and decided to hold a public vote from America to determine who gets the final spot in the Top 20.
During the second "This is Me" retrospective episode, it was revealed that Grace won the public vote and became the twentieth semifinalist.

Grace sang "Cry" by Faith Hill. She received enough votes to become a Top 11 finalist.
Top 11[]
Grace sang "Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland. She did not receive enough votes to place in the Top 7, eliminating her from the competition, alongside Jovin Webb, Sophia James, and Makayla Phillips.
