"Glitter" is the coronation song by Nicolina, who tied for fourth place alongside Fritz Hager on Season 20 of American Idol.

Background[]

The song was originally recorded by singer-songwriter Patrick Droney,[1] who self-produced and co-wrote it with Wayne Hector.[2] After a lone single distribution,[1] it was later released on Droney's EP, State of the Heart (both in 2020). The following year, it was included on his album—also titled State of the Heart (2021).[3]

Production[]

Nicolina's rendition was produced by Mr. Franks,[4] and released through 19 Recordings. She opted to cover Droney's song,[4] rather than some previously written–but unrecorded–material, because she felt the lyrics about "grief" resonated with her.[4]
