Garrett Jacobs was a contestant on Season 16 of American Idol.

Audition[]

Garrett auditioned in New Orleans. He sang "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Garrett was shown in a montage of contestants who survived the Groups of Ten. He was later shown in the final Solo Rounds singing "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. He survived the cut that occurred thereafter and was shown during the Showcase Round singing "Knock on Wood" by Eddie Floyd. At the Final Judgment, he was called along with Laine Hardy and the judges told him that he advanced and Laine did not.

Top 24[]

Garrett was shown in Group 2. He sang "Treat You Better" by Shawn Mendes and "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat in a duet with Caillat. The judges deemed him good enough to become a Top 14 finalist.

Top 14[]

Garrett sang "Raging Fire" by Phillip Phillips during the Live Show and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" by Creedence Clearwater Revival during the Results Show. He did not make the Top 6 in voting that week and was not selected by the judges to become a Top 10 finalist, eliminating him from the competition.
