Franchell "Frenchie" Davis (born May 7th, 1979) was a contestant on Season 2 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Frenchie auditioned in New York. She sang "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" by Jennifer Holliday. All three judges stood up and clapped after she stopped singing. They also all voted "yes", sending her to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Frenchie appeared in the first televised group of ten. She sang "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" by Jennifer Holliday. Later, she was shown in a group with Kimberley Locke. They sang "Band of Gold" by Freda Payne. She eventually made it to the judges' final forty-eight.
Even though she was in the same room as Ruben Studdard and other contestants who progressed to the Top 32, Frenchie was disqualified because of undisclosed topless photos that were on an adult website which could've had underage content. Juanita Barber replaced her spot in the semis.[1]
After the Show[]
Frenchie appeared on the first season of The Voice. She landed on Christina Aguilera's team and finished in fifth place.
