Audition[]
Ethan auditioned in Detroit. He sang "You'll Think of Me" by Keith Urban. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Ethan's stay in Hollywood wasn't shown much, but he managed to make the last part of Hollywood Week. For his final solo performance, he sang "Amazed" by Lonestar. At the Final Judgment, the judges told him he did enough to become a Top 30 finalist.

Ethan was not chosen by the judges to sing during Rush Week, eliminating him from the competition.
