Erika Lynn Van Pelt (born December 12th, 1985) was a contestant on Season 11 of American Idol.


Erika auditioned in Pittsburgh. She sang "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles. All three judges voted "yes", sending her to the next round.

Hollywood RoundEdit

Erika was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week, in the same Group of Ten as Aaron Marcellus. She sang "Glitter in the Air" by P!nk. She advanced and was shown in a montage of contestants who survived Group Round. Afterwards, she was placed in the first deliberation room along with Jen Hirsh, Creighton Fraker, Hallie Day, Adam Brock, Joshua Ledet, David Leathers, Jr., Johnny Keyser, Colton Dixon, Jermaine Jones, Elise Testone and Lauren Gray, where it was revealed that everyone in the room had advanced.

Las Vegas RoundEdit

Erika was shown in a group with Angie Zeiderman, Adam Brock and Shelby Tweten singing "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis. Everyone in her group advanced.

At the final solo performance, she sang "Don't You Remember" by Adele. At the Final Judgment, the judges told her that she did enough to make the Top 24.

Top 25Edit

Erika sang "What About Love" by Heart. Although she was initially eliminated, she was selected to compete in the Wild-Card round.

Wild-Card RoundEdit

Erika sang "The Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga. The judges selected her to become a Top 13 finalist.
