Elijah McCormick (born May 19, 2001)[1] was a contestant on Season 21 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Elijah auditioned in New Orleans. He sang "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Elijah was one of three contestants vying for a fourth Platinum Ticket alongside Haven Madison and Matt Wilson. Following a vote at the American Music Awards, it was revealed that Elijah received the most votes—thus granting him a Platinum Ticket, and providing him a bypass to skip the first round of Hollywood Week. In the second part of Hollywood Week, he picked Lucy Love in a duet called "Dunamis Duo". They sang "My Girl" by The Temptations. For his final solo performance he sang "Believe for It" by CeCe Winans. Afterwards, the judges told him that he did enough to become a Top 26 finalist.
Top 26 (Hawaii Round) — Group 2[]
Elijah was mentored by Noah Cyrus, and sang "Good Vibes" by Chris Janson. He received the lowest number of votes for his group, alongside Malik Heard and Dawson Wayne, eliminating him from the competition.
