Eddie Liggitt (born June 24, 1993), better known by his stage name Eddie Island, was a contestant on Season 17 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Eddie auditioned in Los Angeles. He sang an original song called "Stay Okay". All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Eddie was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week singing "I'll Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie. He advanced and for his final solo performance, he sang an original song called "1974". She was placed in the third deliberation room, along with Tyler Mitchell, Wade Cota, Dimitrius Graham, Alyssa Raghu, Kason Lester, Bumbly, Shawn Robinson and Myra Tran. It was revealed that everyone in the room advanced.
Hawaii Round[]
Eddie sang "Don't You Worry, Child" by Swedish House Mafia, ft. John Martin. Afterwards, he was called up alongside Margie Mays for the Final Judgment. The judges told him that he advanced and Margie did not.
Top 20[]
Eddie sang "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers and "7 Years" by Lukas Graham in a duet with Graham. Afterwards, the judges told him he did enough to become a Top 14 finalist.
Top 14[]
Eddie sang "Bennie and the Jets" by Elton John during the Voting Round Show and "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon during the Results Show. He was not placed in the Top 7 in the voting nor was he saved by the judges, eliminating him from the competition.
