Dolly Rebecca Parton (born March 25th, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, actress, author, businesswoman and philanthropist, known primarily for her work in country music. She is the most honoured female country performer of all-time, with 25 songs reaching No. 1 at the country music charts, 41 career Top 10 country albums, and 110 career charted singles over the past forty years.

She served as a mentor during the Top 9 week on Season 7 of American Idol.

She was considered to be a judge for the first revival season.[1]
