Dezmond Meeks was a contestant on Season 4 of American Idol.

Audition[edit | edit source]

Dezmond auditioned in Orlando. He sang "I Got You (I Feel Good)" by James Brown. Although Randy and Simon felt he was not a right fit for the competition, Paula thought he was one of the best singers they saw. Simon firmly voted "no", but Paula voted "yes" and she was able to convince Randy to vote "yes" too, sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[edit | edit source]

Dezmond was shown the second round of Hollywood Week, in a group with Constantine Maroulis and William Blake singing "I Can't Help Myself" by The Four Tops. He advanced after his group performance along with Constantine. On the final day of Hollywood Week, he sang "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye. Afterwards, it was revealed that he was eliminated along with Jennifer Todd, Carrie Zaruba, Aa'Shia Jackson, Larry Ellis and Ross Williams.

After the Show[edit | edit source]

Dezmond participated in the sixth season of America's Got Talent. He managed to progress to the live Quarterfinals.
