Dexter Roberts (born July 12, 1991) was a contestant on Season 13 of American Idol.
Audition[]
Dexter auditioned in Salt Lake City. He sang "Drive" by Casey James. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
Dexter was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week. He sang "Barton Hollow" by The Civil Wars. He advanced and was later shown in a group called "Backstreet Cowboys" along with Ben Briley and Casey Thrasher singing "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys. Everyone in the group advanced. For his final solo performance, he sang an original song called "Farmer's Grandson". At the Final Judgment, the judges told him he did enough to become a Top 30 finalist.

Dexter was chosen by the judges to sing during Rush Week. He sang "This Ole Boy" by Joe Nichols. Afterwards, it was revealed that he received enough votes to become a Top 13 finalist.

Dexter sang "Aw Naw" by Chris Young. He received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.
Top 12[]
Dexter sang "Lucky Man" by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. He received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.
Top 11[]
Dexter sang "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynryd Skynyrd. He received enough votes to be "safe" for another week.
After the Show[]
Dexter appeared on the sixteenth season of The Voice, going on Blake's team. He ended up finishing in third place that year, only behind runner-up Gyth Rigdon and winner Maelyn Jarmon.
