David Oliver Willis (born January 25, 1991) was a contestant on Season 12, Season 13, and Season 14 of American Idol.

Season 12 Audition

David's audition was not televised, but a flashback revealed he auditioned in Charlotte.

Season 12 Hollywood Round

David was shown in a group called "The Four Tones" with Micah Johnson, Vincent Powell and Marvin Calderon singing "Hold On, I'm Comin'" by Sam & Dave. Everyone in the group advanced and he eventually did enough to make the Top 20 Guys.

Top 40

David appeared in Male Group 2 and sang "Fever" by Little Willie John. Afterwards, the judges told him he did not become a semifinalist.

Season 13 Audition

David auditioned in Detroit. He sang "Too Close" by Alex Clare. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Season 13 Hollywood Round

Although not shown singing, David was shown in the same Group of Ten as Spencer Lloyd. He was also shown in a group called "Three More Days" along with Sarina-Joi Crowe and Tony Foster, Jr. singing "Too Close" by Alex Clare. He and Sarina advanced. For his final solo performance, he sang "Bring It on Home to Me" by Sam Cooke. At the Final Judgment, the judges told him he did not become a Top 30 finalist.

David's audition was not televised.

Season 14 Hollywood Round

David was shown in the second part of Hollywood Week, in a group called "Double Stuff" with Clark Beckham, Jesse Cline and J. None singing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder. He was probably eliminated sometime thereafter.
