David Walter Foster (born November 1st, 1949) is a Canadian musician, record producer, composer, songwriter and arranger. He has worked with countless famous musicians, including Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Kenny Rogers, Rod Stewart, Donna Summer, Olivia Newton-John, Madonna, Barbra Streisand and Michael Jackson.
He served as a mentor during the Top 6 week alongside Andrea Bocelli on Season 5 of American Idol.
Foster's sister Jaymes is the surrogate mother of Clay Aiken's son Parker.
On June 28th, 2019, Foster married American Idol alum Katharine McPhee.
