David Debrandon Brown, later known as Lucky Daye, (born September 25th, 1984- ) was a contestant on Season 4 of American Idol.
Audition[]
David auditioned in New Orleans. He sang "A Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke. All four judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.
Hollywood Round[]
David was shown in the first part of Hollywood Round singing "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder. The judges told him afterwards that he did enough to advance. He was shown on the final part of Hollywood Round, advancing along with Jamar Jefferson, Mario Vazquez, Matthew Kester, Carrie Underwood, Constantine Maroulis, Judd Harris, Anwar Robinson, Janay Castine and Vonzell Solomon. During the judges' final deliberation, it was revealed that he did enough to make the Top 24.

David sang "Never Can Say Goodbye" by The Jackson 5. He received enough votes to be considered "safe" for another week.
Top 20[]
David sang "All in Love is Fair" by Stevie Wonder. He received the second-lowest number of votes, eliminating him from the competition.
After the Show[]
Later known as Lucky Daye, he received four Grammy nominations in 2020, and two additional nominations in 2022.
